6.2 Options for power failure

6.2.1 Equipment level to VDE 0108 for emergency power mode

Function The module automatically recognises the power failure and disconnects from the mains.

After on-site load shedding of all consumers not eligible for emergency power, and opening of the on-site

mains coupling switch, the module can switch to emergency power. After restoration of the power supply

and a brief power steadying phase, the module is shut down and the on-site mains coupling switch is

closed. The module then runs according to standard mode.

As heat is still generated in emergency power mode, adequate provision must be made to transfer this

heat and, if necessary, supply a cooling system or buffer cylinder.

• Key switch for power failure simulation

• Additional zero volt message contacts for parallel mains mode and emergency power mode

The standard emergency power mode (without equipment level to VDE 0108) is included in the Vitobloc

standard delivery.
